The University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna hosts an international workshop on the the topic of translating comedy and humour in vocal music within the FWF-funded project “Translating and rewriting Italian opera in German (1600-1750)”. The tranfer of humour in opera, musicals, songs, popular music, television series, and stand-up comedy, will be discussed within an interdisciplinary encounter of researchers from the fields of musicology, translation studies, literature, and linguistics.
Within the workshop, a keynote speech will be given by Klaus Kaindl on a multimodal framework for the translation of verbo-musical humour.
