Mascha Dabic
Marija (Mascha) Dabić was born in Sarajevo (then Yugoslavia). She studied Translation and Interpreting Studies (English and Russian) at the Universities of Innsbruck and Vienna, with study periods in Edinburgh and Saint Petersburg. She holds a PhD in Interpreting Studies from the University of Vienna; her dissertation examined interpreting in psychotherapy with survivors of war. She teaches Russian translation and interpreting at the University of Vienna, works as an interpreter in psychotherapeutic settings, and translates literature from Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian into German – prose and poetry as well as plays. She also conducts seminars and workshops on literary translation.
